2026 GIMBC Beach Cleanup Beach Cleanup

GIMBC students recently held a beach cleanup near Fulong Beach to practice their environmental stewardship.

Before starting, the students learned about the problem of ocean waste on the coastline of Ruifang District. The Fulong coast accumulates large amounts of marine waste due to washed up fishing gear and illegal dumping of trash into nearby waters by the fishing industry.

During the beach cleaning, the students cleaned up plastic bottles, glass, styrofoam, and a large amount of waste from fishing gear. Everyone divided the work and carried the garbage bags to the roadside to be picked up by the New Taipei City Environmental Protection Department.

Students helped each other carrying garbage, and reminded each other to pay attention to the environment, drink water, and rest when they needed to, enhancing a sense of mutual communication and teamwork!

This beach cleanup not only allows GIMBC students to participate in marine environmental protection, but also makes everyone more aware of the impact of ocean waste on Taiwan’s coasts.

Special thanks to Xinyue for hosting this beach cleanup, and Nigel of Blue Dot Treat for providing all the cleanup equipment. Thanks to them both for leading GIMBC students to clean the beach.

Thank you to every student who completed this special beach cleaning activity together!
