Test results are valid only if obtained within two years of the admissions application start date (i.e. no earlier than November 2022)

If you hold a bachelor’s degree completed in its entirety in an English-speaking country, you will be exempted from submitting English-proficiency scores.

6) CV

7) Personal statement (about your background, motivation, research interest, why GIMBC…etc)

8) Financial statement,  obtained within the last three months. If you are self-sponsored, provide your bank statement(s) in English or Chinese with the $USD amount equal or exceed $4,000 USD or $NTD amount equal or exceed $120,000 NTD. Authentication is not required at this stage.

Upon admission, applicants must provide authenticated/notarized financial proof of the amount listed in the admission notice. 9) Optional: letter(s) of recommendation (1 for MSc; 2 for PhD; your recommender(s) can submit the letter online, or you can upload a copy to the online application system for them)

10) Other supporting materials that you think will help (e.g., awards, publications, proof of scholarship application from governmental agencies…etc)

A few more things to keep in mind:

1. Everything in GIMBC is taught in English: this includes lectures, seminars, and lab meetings.  No knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is required.

2. To be eligible for GIMBC scholarship (this is different from TMU scholarship), all students must apply to at least one non-TMU scholarship, such as the Taiwan Ministry of Education or Ministry of Foreign Affairs or any opportunities in your home country (e.g., Fulbright). Please save a copy of proof of application for your record, GIMBC will consider you for monthly stipend scholarship if you have applied elsewhere first.

3. Before coming to TMU, you will need to have your diploma (highest degree) and transcript attested by your local Taiwanese Consulate. Attestation is not required when you are applying online, but is required prior to your arrival and registration. Because attestation can take a long time (2 months), especially due to the covid situation, we highly recommend all applicants to start the attestation process as early as possible, perhaps immediately after you have completed the TMU online application or upon graduation.

4. If you are a  Taiwan Ministry of Education or Ministry of Foreign Affairs scholarship applicant, please apply to GIMBC via the following link: https://ogeadmission.tmu.edu.tw/foreign/index/index/applyForeignSn/90

5. If you are a Fulbright applicant, please apply to GIMBC via the following link: https://ogeadmission.tmu.edu.tw/foreign/index/index/applyForeignSn/91
