Professor Changwei Wu’s Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) course wrapped up the semester with a final research symposium. Throughout the semester, first-year master’s students applied their knowledge from the course to develop their independent research posters. These projects explored topics such as mindfulness meditation, consciousness during anesthesia, neural biosignatures of fibromyalgia, thalamic influences on cognitive control, print-speech convergence in second language learners, and the impact of aging on the frontal-parietal network (FPN). GIMBC faculty members attended the symposium, offering students valuable expert feedback on their work.
