The Consciousness Research Network (CoRN) unites scholars across philosophy, neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, medical science, biology, robotics, and related disciplines to advance the scientific study of consciousness.
In 2025, CoRN was held for the first time in Bangkok, Thailand (August 5–8). GIMBC faculty members Prof. Niall Duncan and Prof. Tzu-Yu Hsu served on the global organizing committee. The conference featured strong participation from GIMBC: faculty member Christopher Dahl delivered a talk on spider-related consciousness.
Additional studies from members unable to attend in person were also showcased, including Chakriya (Dr. Christoph’s lab) and Teng-Mao Yao, a graduate of Prof. Chang-Wei Wu’s master’s program at GIMBC.
Among the highlights, Jennifer’s poster “The role of domestic dogs’ visual and auditory abilities in discriminating quantities” received the award for Most Distinctive Study in Consciousness Research.
This first Bangkok CoRN gathering successfully fostered academic exchange, strengthened research networks, and paved the way for future collaborations.
