As part of the International Speakers’ Series, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dhakal will explore how caste-based discrimination and landlessness intersect to intensify climate vulnerability among agricultural labourers in Nepal’s Madhesh Province. The talk will examine how environmental injustice is historically produced and socially embedded, highlighting the connections between land rights, social inequality, climate change, and community well-being. Participants interested in environmental justice, social equity, climate studies, and South Asian research are warmly welcome to attend. - Speaker Biography:
Suresh Kumar Dhakal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. His research focuses on caste-based marginalization, land rights, climate vulnerability, and social justice among historically excluded communities in Nepal’s Madhesh Province. - Contact Information:
