It has been a nurturing experience in Sendai! The writing behind me was a Buddhism mantra. This art was especially meaningful to me and my exchange experience as I had grown a lot, both mentally and spiritually, in this program. The group of friends from TMU and Tohoku University formed a tight bond and together we explored much delicacies and sceneries in Sendai and Matsushima.

Not sure if I should scream for help of mind invasion or the cables that gave me beautiful hair extensions. Some of the Sakai Sensei’s lab research objectives were to investigate the effect of scents on creative drawing, decision judgement, and objective beauty rating. Interestingly, they incorporated fNIRS to examine the changes in blood oxygenation using noninvasive, portable device in their research practices. Sakai sensei and his lab members were generous and inviting for me to practice fNIRS device on my research interest on mindfulness. Despite the hassle, we had a great period of academic exchange on research plans and technology exchange in this program!

Food food food! More food!

Miyagi prefecture has some of the most mouth-watering deliciousnesses. I mean, even the Japanese curry rice in the Tohoku University cafeteria worth daily visits! I got to say foodie company is equally important aside of good restaurant choice in having a good meal. JiNong and Diana were such treasures to have to dine with. I was lucky to have them accompanying me on this program. Cheers for more laughter!
