TMU International fMRI Forum – Event Highlights (2026/9/24)
The Graduate Institute of Mind, Brain and Consciousness (GIMBC) at Taipei Medical University hosted the TMU International fMRI Forum on September 24, 2026, bringing together researchers and students to explore recent developments in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), research reproducibility, neuroimaging data sharing, and the application of artificial intelligence in neuroscience.
The forum featured two international guest speakers: Dr. Jean-Baptiste Poline from McGill University, Canada, and Dr. Paul Taylor from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), USA.
Dr. Paul Taylor discussed practical approaches to improving the robustness, reproducibility, and interpretation of fMRI research. Dr. Jean-Baptiste Poline explored distributed solutions for neuroimaging data sharing and processing, as well as the growing role of large language models (LLMs) in scientific research.
In addition, Dr. Claire H. C. Chang and Dr. Hsiang-Yu Chen from GIMBC shared their ongoing research projects and recent findings, highlighting the institute’s research activities in neuroscience and neuroimaging.
Through invited presentations and discussions, the forum provided an opportunity for researchers and students to exchange ideas, explore different methodological perspectives, and strengthen connections across institutions and countries.
GIMBC sincerely thanks all speakers, participants, and the organizing team for their contributions. We look forward to continuing international academic exchange and collaboration in neuroscience research.
